Really good questions, Kerri. I love the call to live honestly with ourselves. It takes courage to grieve. The Beatitudes are such a reversal of everything I think I want. Without mourning, how can we be comforted?
"The Beatitudes are such a reversal of everything I think I want.” oof. This really struck me when I read it! Thank you for sharing these thoughts., Abigail.
Thank you, Victoria! That line got me, too. I think it’s easier to reject daydreaming about ‘bad’ things rather than actual good things that we can legitimately desire. Grieving the loss or lack of a good isn’t a necessarily a sign of ingratitude, although I think it often gets painted as such, unfortunately.

Thank you, Mackenzie!
Well-written and helpful, Kerri.
This was a very well framed reflection. Thank you for it.
Thank you for saying so, Angela! I’m glad.
Praying the Serenity Prayer daily! Which of Father Philippe's books are those quotes from? One sounds as though it could be from Interior Freedom...
It’s such a good prayer! and -yes, you got it, Interior Freedom :)
